Information About Scam/Phising Emails.
Definitions:
Scam - A dishonest scheme; a fraud.
Phishing - The activity of defrauding an online account holder of financial or other sensitive account information by posing as a legitimate company
What you need to know:
• NEVER give out your HuronTel username and password to anyone.
• HuronTel will never ask you to ‘upgrade’ your email account or ask for your username/password via email.
• Nobody from ‘Microsoft’ will ever call you regarding ‘problems with your computer’. This is a scam to gain access to your computer for malicious purposes.
