E-Mail - Windows Live Mail POP Setup

 

Windows Live Mail – E-mail Setup for Windows 7 and 8

 

If you use Windows 7, you will likely already have Windows Live Mail installed on your computer.  If so, skip the step below and proceed with adding your account.  To determine if your Windows 7 computer has Windows Live Mail, check in the start menu under all programs.

 

Note - Windows live mail is no longer available for download from Microsoft's support website. 

 

When prompted, select only the programs you want to install (in this case, Windows Live Mail).

 

 

 

 

After starting Windows Live Mail, click on the accounts tab, then “E-mail” to begin adding your account information.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 1 – Enter your username, password and display name you would like to appear when people receive mail from you, check off “Manually configure server settings” then click next.

 

 

Fill in the information into the fields above as follows:

 

                Incoming server information:

 

                Server type – POP

 

                Server address – mail.hurontel.on.ca

 

                Authenticate using – cleat text

 

                Logon username – your username (eg if your e-mail address is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.">This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. your username is user)

 

                Outgoing server information:

 

                Server address – smtp.hurontel.on.ca

 

                Port 587

 

           Check off “requires authentication”

 

 

Click finish to complete account setup.

 

One setup, Windows Live Mail will download all of the e-mail stored on our mail server to your computer.  If you run into an issues during this process, please do not hesitate to call 519-395-3800 and press 2.
