This circuit can test as a go/nogo/crossover cable tester with as many circuits as you have switch positions/LEDs. You can use whatever connectors you desire,and wire them to the switch/LEDs anyway ou desire,as long as you conncect a particular pin on the switch side to the like pin on the LED side.

Theory of operation.

Switch section:

The rotary switch selects and applies power to a connnector position.on CN1

Indicator section:

LED(s) will light when the position on the CN2 is connected ,through the cable under test,to the selected pin on CN1

NOTE: This device is in no way a cable/circuit quality checker(if it passes a current,it tests good).

Parts and Construction

Parts selection isn't that critical,just choose for ease of use and/or construction, and proper operation.

The LED/resistor/powersource is up to you,but a standard red LED,330 Ohm 1/4W resistor,and 9v battery will work ok.
