The Composter This composter was engineered (not, I just had this idea) by me and built in a matter of hours with 2' x 4' that we inherited with the barn. It works great! The front boards slide out the sides for easy removal and the top half slides back for dumping in fresh compost from under the kitchen sink, grass clippings, leaves etc... Compost needs plenty of time, some water, air flow and regular turning over in order to decompose sufficiently before the rich black muck can be dug into the soil...usually in the spring. If done properly, the composter should be relatively odour free as well. |
