This clematis vine was at the front of the house when we moved here. Last summer it was carefully dug up and placed at the foot of one of the post to the canopied garden bench made of old cedar rails and a wooden grate. This summer it is just beautiful...picture taken June 25/99. Another one planted at the other post bloomed in May..go figure.
